The Kids Kafé at the Letcher County Farmers Market is a USDA Summer Feeding Site sponsored by the Letcher County Public Schools. At the food booth, we serve fresh meals sourced with local products from many of the market's growers. Some of the items served include blueberry smoothies, breakfast wraps, and fajitas. All kids ages 18 and under eat free, and items are sold at low cost to anyone 19 and up.
After school resumes and the Summer Feeding Program ends, Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation sponsors the food booth to continue to offer free meals to youth. The food booth is open every market Saturday from 9 to 1 and Wednesdays in July and August from 3:30-6:30.
